PECOS TEXAS MAP |

Pecos, Texas is the largest town in and is the county
seat of Reeves County. Interstate 20, U.S. Highway 285 and U.S. Highway 80 intersect in Pecos. Pecos is one of my towns in West Texas that came to life with a depot being built during the construction of the Texas and Pacific Railway. |

Before the arrival of the railroad there was a camp nearby, set up
where cattle drives crossed the Pecos River. After irrigation from underground aquifers was established Pecos farmers began growing cotton, onions and the famous Pecos cantaloupes. |
