Here we see a pair of tourists from the Pacific Northwest watching the passing Fort Worth Herd from the vantage point of Riscky's Barbecue. |
Watch video of the Fort Worth Herd Cattle Drive through the Stockyards
At the start of the Trail Drive, heading west down Exchange Avenue. Note the road sign which advises that there are no trolley stops during trail drives. |
Each of the Longhorns has names, generally based on some descriptive feature, such as the Lead Longhorn in this photo is called Chocolate Chip. |
The Longhorns are very well behaved and don't seem to require a lot of directional input from the cowboys. The cowboys do do a lot of hooting and hollering and whip snapping though. Maybe that is what keeps the Longhorns in line. |
Laundry services on the trail drives must have been very good as it seems that bright white is the shirt color of choice. |
The cowboys and the cows slowly make their way down Exchange Avenue on their way back to the Stockyards backlot. |
Hope you Enjoyed Riding Herd.
