 Lake
Murray State Park is the oldest and biggest state park in Oklahoma. The
state park totally surrounds Lake Murray. All water sports can be found
at Lake Murray. The state operated Lake Murray Lodge is on the west
shore. The lodge has guest rooms, suites and cabins along with the Apple
Bin Restaurant and the Parlor. There are 9 RV campgrounds with over 300
RV campsites. There are hundreds of tent campsites throughout the park,
with full hookups, showers and restrooms.

The most unusual thing at Lake Murray is known as
Tucker Tower. It is sort of a shortened obelisk, like the Washington Monument,
but not fully grown. Tucker Tower was built by the WPA during the
Roosevelt years. It served as a summer retreat for Oklahoma Governor
Murray. It is no longer a summer retreat but is instead Tucker Tower
Museum & Nature Center.
