Anna Slotemaker was born on June 5, 1865 in Noord Scharwoude in the province of
Noord Holland to Cornelis and Aagje Slotemaker. Anna is the sister of
John Slotemaker. Cornelis, Aagje, Anna and John are the original American
Slotemakers from whom all the American Slotemakers have descended. The Slotemaker
Cousins asked Anna's grandson Howard Spaan if he could tell us about Anna in
much the same way Henry Slotemaker told us about Anna's brother John's side of
the family in the Slotemaker Story. Howard has delivered to us the story of Anna
in rich detail far in excess of our expectations. Reading this we now feel like
we know Anna.
