The photos you see here were are
believed to have been taken at Cornwall Park, Bellingham, Washington, in
1979. It is believed to have been the last time all the children and
grandchildren of Grandma Slotemaker were all assembled in one place. Ivan
was up north from San Francisco. Hank & Ruth and their urchins were home
from Australia. And Mooch & Jane and their urchins were home from
Nebraska. It is remembered that Mel & Judy urchin, Mike, made a pest of
himself at this event taking photos. It is not known if the urchin Mike is
who we have to thank for these photos.
Here we see the Aussie-Americans, Hank & Ruth sitting
in front of a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken and somehow managing to look
like Jackie O and Aristotle. A popular look at that time in history...
If anyone has a bad photo of Mooch daughter Amy, please
send it, all we seem to have is photos were she's a little cutey.
All the girl cousins with Grandma. That is Jackie to the
left of Grandma and Michele sitting on Nancy's lap to the right. Standing
behind, from the left, is Aussie cousin Carol, Sheryl with Amy on her
shoulders, and the oldest of the girl cousins, Linda.
Group photos with Grandma seem to be the order of the day.
Judging by the shape of the posterior and the apparent baseball pants that is
believed to be Nancy on the far left. Ivan is standing next to her, near the
food table. On a hot day, wearing some sort of goofy hat, is Mooch, holding
what appears to be a crying Neil. Standing next to Neil is a thin,
curly-haired Jake, then a bearded Scott and Steve standing behind his big
brother, Danny, who is sitting to the right of Grandma who is sitting next to
her favorite little grandson, Mike, who obviously is not taking this photo,
which makes it a mystery as to who it was who took this photo. Maybe Dean was
taking the photo as he is not in this photo which appears to be of all of
Grandma's grandsons. Except for Dean.
It is believed that that is Linda
with her back to the camera, with Scott's original wife, Judy, turning to look
at the camera, though hard to see because she is somewhat in the shadows, with
her mother-in-law, Linda and Scott's mama, Arlene, hiding behind sunglasses
next to George who is mostly blocked by Scott with Ivan on the far right.

It is noticed that Shirley & Judy and a
few others are missing from these photos, though it is known they were at this
event. We have no explanation for this ommission at present.
