Jack & Shirley
Do Dallas

With Reunion Tower behind them and the JFK Memorial to their right, the challenge for Jack & Shirley was to find the Book Depository building and the Grassy Knoll from which the shots may have been fired which brought about the need for this memorial.

Following the tracks of tourists Jack & Shirley are able to find the X that marks where the first bullet hit its mark.

Some camera fumbling as the Temporary Texans try to do some shooting of their own from the Grassy Knoll.

After much searching, the window on the Sixth Floor of the Book Depository is found. It is decided to go into the museum to investigate further. Even after it was discovered that some criminals had more than doubled the cost of the entry fee. Shirley tried to convince Jack not to cause any trouble but an incident passing thru the electronic security caused the confiscation of their camera until they left the building.

After spending an exhausting hour dealing with assassination conspiracies, it was decided we were hungry. The Dallas Farmer's Market was nearby, so we traveled there next, after a brief driveby of the world's biggest outdoor sculpture, of which driveby photos were taken, but the walking limit had been reached so no walkby was possible....(to view photos of this sculpture from a previous visit click here....)

Year's of price haggling practice in Algodones pay off.

Some bitter fruit causes some bitter puckering.

Shirley seems to be saying she would like something other than fruit. Maybe a McDonald's.....in north Dallas, by way of White Rock Lake and some other things. At none of which were photos taken, as the photo quota for the day had been reached...

Last one in is a rotten egg.

You can't tell if Mom was first in. Or last from this photo.
After doing Dallas for a few hours an important baseball game began some distance to the west, and so a return to a TV with cable was made. Tomorrow, weather permitting, a picnic will be had. And maybe a return to the Stockyards for some BBQ.
