The earliest known example of
John Slotemaker's obvious comfort with the wearing of suits. This photo
was taken in Alkmaar, Holland, a town near Noorde Sharwoude which the
Slotemakers frequented, to shop and to do business.
John appears to be about 10 in this photo, which was also
taken in Alkmaar, Holland.
Now in America, in Orange City, Iowa (see
Part 2 of the Slotemaker Story), we now see John with a tie for the
first time. As far as is known at present, no photo exists of John
Slotemaker in which he is not attired in a suit.
